Pleated Diaper/Wipe Pouch: Tutorial too!

Supplies:

Sewing machine, 1/4 yard of two fabrics (lining & outer fabric), one button, thread, a piece of paper

Cutting:

Cut one piece at 10 x 5 (Front piece with pleats)
Cut one piece at 8.5 x 5 (Back piece, no pleats)
Cut two pieces 8.5 x 4
Cut two pieces at 8.5 x 9 (lining)
Cut one piece 1 x 1 (Tab on top)
Cut one piece 2x2

Main Pieces Assembly:

1) Fold the front piece in quarters, making half in pleats on either side.
2) Sew the pleated piece to one of the 8.5 x 4 pieces, along the top seam (right sides together)
3) Turn, press, and repeat for other side
4) Sew a lining piece to the top seam of the front piece (right sides together)
5) Turn, press, repeat for other side
Now set aside the two pieces and grab the 1x1 piece

Tab Assembly:

7) Fold in thirds, and do a top stitch along each side

8) Fold each corner down, crossing the ends, you should get a shape like above, make sure it fits your button

Full Assembly:

9) Top stitch along the top of the main pieces
10) Sew the two main pieces together, along the sides and bottom seam, with the outer pieces facing each other
11) Turn, and press
12) Sew in the tab and the button

I just made a little heart out of fabric and embroidered it on with my machine (tutorial on this coming soon!) and made a tag to cover the bottom of the tab. (But you could always sew it inside the seams when you sew the topstitch!)
